A book, along with bookish goodies delivered to my door every month? Yes please – sign me up! That was exactly what I thought when I first saw Wordy & Wild – a monthly book subscription box that includes thoughtful, bookish-themed gifts.
My first box (April) arrived today and I thought I’d share my first impressions!
A Wordy & Wild subscription is priced at £30.99 per month, or £32.99 for a one-off box. Inside, you’ll receive a book, alongside 1-2 bookish themed gifts, hand designed by Alice, the owner of Wordy & Wild.
You can choose between two options, either a romance only subscription, or the diverse reader box (romance, thriller, fantasy). As I read a little bit of everything, I decided to opt for the diverse reader box.
April’s book was Across the vanishing sky by Catherine Cowles, not only does it have a stunning cover, but I was immediately intrigued by the blurb and I’m really looking forward to reading it, ideally when I’m on my holidays.
The back of the book reads:
Braedyn Winslow never expected to return to Starlight Grove—the town that took everything from her. Not after her best friend, the one who’d sacrificed so much for her, vanished without a trace. But with a young son to raise and a past that won’t stay buried, Brae is back…and determined to uncover the truth.
She just didn’t count on the brooding, reclusive mountain man living next door.
Dex Archer is the stuff of local legend—silent, rugged, and surrounded by whispers of his and his brothers’ violent father. But Brae sees through the scowl and his parentage to the man beneath: fiercely loyal, unexpectedly kind…and just dangerous enough to protect her when someone starts warning her off her search.
The closer she gets to the truth, the harder it is to stay away from Dex. And as things get more perilous, Brae realizes the only person she can rely on is the one man who swore never to trust again.
Only someone isn’t happy that Brae has been digging, and they’ll do anything to stop her. But Dex? He’ll do anything to save her, even slip back into the dark…
Romance with a hint of thriller? Sign me right up!
Along with the book, I received a really cosy looking sweater. The quality feels excellent and it’s really soft and snuggly. I love the slogan and I can’t wait to wear this on a weekend, curled up with a good book!
Overall, I’m really pleased with my first Wordy & Wild box and I’m already looking forward to May’s delivery!
